Bowers & Wilkins HTM71 S3 Signature 3-Way Center Channel Speaker (Datuk Gloss)
Crafted. Honed. Perfected.
The HTM71 S3 Signature arrives as a first-of-its-kind Signature center channel speaker. Designed predominantly for use in home theatres, the HTM71 S3 Signature delivers exceptional vocal realism to any movie-watching experience. It features optimized technologies, such as Bowers & Wilkins’ proprietary decoupled Continuum midrange drive unit and Tweeter-on-Top, plus upgraded bass motor systems, improved capacitors, revised speaker terminals, and a more open tweeter grille mesh, as developed for their 800 Series Signature loudspeakers.
Solid Body Tweeter
The 700 Series Signature models feature the latest generation of Bowers & Wilkins’ iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing. Its new, more elongated form incorporates a longer tube-loading system to produce an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminum to better resist resonance.
Carbon Dome Tweeter
Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on older generations of tweeter dome technologies, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
Biomimetic Suspension
Sometimes, making a big difference takes unconventional thinking. The transition from Bowers & Wilkins’ famous yellow Aramid Fiber midrange cones to their Continuum cone technology resulted in a massive improvement to midrange performance. Now, they’ve turned their attention to another crucial element in a loudspeaker cone: the fabric spider. The new Biomimetic Suspension revolutionizes midrange cone performance by greatly reducing the unwanted air pressure and coloration that a conventional fabric spider can generate. The result? Midrange transparency you wouldn’t believe possible.
Continuumâ„¢ Cone
Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuumâ„¢ cone avoids the abrupt transitions in behavior that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.
Upgraded Crossovers
The new 700 Series Signature models use upgraded crossover designs crafted by Bowers & Wilkins’ expert engineers. Developed using rigorous testing, their engineers carefully optimize these crossovers to perfection, to maximize the loudspeakers’ performance.Â
Aerofoilâ„¢ Profile Bass Cone
Developed using advanced computer modelling techniques, the Aerofoil™ Profile bass cone has variable thickness, providing stiffness and rigidity where it’s needed most. The result is deep and dynamic bass.
Curved Baffle
The new 700 Series Signature models feature a curved front baffle. This allows the midrange and bass drivers to be located in individual pod-type housings that sit proud of the speaker baffle. When combined with the curvature of the structure, this new approach – derived from the 800 Series Diamond – reduces the audible impact of the cabinet, creating a cleaner, more open and more immersive sound.
